Prep ingredients, not every meal
The hardest part after work is often deciding, washing and cutting. On shopping day, wash just two or three items and portion them by use so they can go straight into soup or a stir-fry.
Use three simple boxes
Separate “leafy foods to eat soon,” “cut vegetables to cook,” and “longer-lasting roots.” This makes the order of use visible and reduces forgotten produce. Follow safe storage guidance for each food.
Keep three freezer backups
Keep three items that can go straight into cooking, such as spinach, broccoli and mixed mushrooms. When fresh produce runs out, combine them with beans or dried foods to maintain variety.
Logging can wait
If logging during a meal is inconvenient, use an older photo or manual entry later and choose the correct date. Let tracking fit your life rather than interrupting the meal.
